Is there anyone out there?

Is there anybody out there?

Heh, I kind of forgot about this place, but it is still here. I guess that is because I have the hosting automatically paid every month on my credit card.

Honestly, there really has not been a lot going on since my February post.  I finally finished this semester of school…it was a rough one for sure, definitely not “fridge worthy.” Just have to move on and do better next go around.

As far as the summer goes, I would like to find a job/internship. I may have something lined up, but that may no develop until the end of this month, we will have see.

In the meantime my dad and I have a wonderful mini-vacation planned. Well hopefully it works out as well as I have it planned in my head.

We are heading to Kentucky to do the Bourbon Trail and do the NCM Xperience. We will leave eeeeeeeeeeeearly on the 18th and return sometime after the 22nd.

I’ll have my Canon Rebel XSi with me and I’m sure I will take a ton of pictures.

Speaking of pictures, my interest in photography has taken a huge leap and I just invested another $400 in camera equipment. One aspect I am trying to improve (to no avail currently) is post processing. As I really do not have the money to buy a high dollar program such as Photoshop, I downloaded Gimp. It seems to be a very powerful free program. I am still working my way around the basics, but am software challenged.

I think that will be all for now, I hope to get back my couple regular readers and maybe a few more too.

Until next time,

R&R

Whatever reader base that I do have have probably given up on reading due to my extended absence.

In the last month and a half I have quit my job, finished a semester at AU, asked a girl to be my girlfriend, gotten dumped and the list goes on and on.

Inquiring minds…mostly the “Fink” want to know why I did end up quitting my job. There were several factors that lead into this decision. At the top of the list was I was just not happy. I would walk through those doors and a gloom would just cast over me. I guess part of this could have been attributed to the management. According to my store manager I did my job very well, and I know I did, but it just didn’t make me happy being out on a sales floor. I much more enjoyed being in the back and stocking and whatever. Fink knows I am good at handling the back.

All in all, I stand by my decision to leave and I gave them the proper two week notice. I really miss my co-workers though. Thank goodness for texting and facebook chat. I’m sure I will find another job soon, when one door closes another opens.

The girlfriend thing is really no ones business, but I think it came down to the fact that we were indeed just too different for each other.

I’m hoping to continue blogging and expect a post about my Christmas adventures very soon.

Take care

I’m still kickin’

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

I know I haven’t posted in a while. I just have been so busy with “life.” I never really thought I had one, but I guess I do.

The past couple of weeks have been fun filled. Studying for finals and working.

I soon will not be working, I put in my two weeks notice on Sunday. I get to talk to the Store Manager today. I have a feeling he is going to try and talk me out of it. It should be interesting.

Saturday I went and seen “New Moon” with my girlfriend. It was a pretty good movie, I really have no previous background knowledge on any of the series. Toni gave me a basic run down. I really like Bella’s 1963 Chevy truck in the movie, it has the Custom Cab trim. Although, from what I have picked up, in the book she has a 1953? Can anyone verify this. There is a huge difference in styling form 1953 to 1963, regardless a nice truck.

Yesterday, I nearly hit a deer on the way to school and the way home, and it was in the same exact location, which I found odd. Crazy deer.

Well I have one more final exam for today, then off to work, and then one more tomorrow, that will be the conclusion of my semester. It has went by so very fast.

How is everyone else doing with finals?

Black Friday

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Well of course I would be sick the past couple of days. Although I improved slightly to at least attempt work today.

I crawled out of bed at 430am and was at work at 547 am. Traffic was pretty nuts really. There were cars bumper to bumper, traffic light to traffic light.

We did not open until 7, but there were already a good deal of cars in the parking lot.

We had a meet prior to opening, basically discussing what of the “special deals” that we had on hand and the overall process of what was going to happen.

There was already a line started by the time we finished up our meeting and it was a bit crazy. Well crazier than I thought it would have been for our store really.

We were really only busy for about the first two hours, and after that it fluttered down. After that I started feeling worse and two hours after that the manager let me go home.

So I got 4 hours in today at least.

How was your Black Friday?

Black Friday

Yep, not for me, but I think I see my sister in there.

Yep, not for me, but I think I see my sister in there.

We are one week away from the time when shoppers get nuttier than normal and get up at the wee hours of the AM and shop.

My sister will be doing this…she fits the profile of these people to a “T.”

Unfortunately I will be amassed in it this year. I work 6am-2pm Friday. I’m not scheduled to be up on the register, so that should be even more fun.

I just don’t get it myself. I haven’t really seen any “great” deals. In fact I have seen the Black Friday ad for our store and there isn’t really any good deals there either. Some of the “Black Friday deals” are actually already out and running in this weeks ad.

I wonder if that is the case at most places. Are there any real deals? I know at some stores if you are there between 5 and 10, have a red sweater on, are between the age of 13-43, and happen to be lucky enough to be the person with the correct ticket, you will get the one item that is on sale at that price.

Okay, I know that is taken to the extreme, but you get my point.

I just don’t think that there are any great deals out there. I would rather stay at home and shop the internet.

After talking with my sister, she just likes the excitement of being out there, and she admitted that there aren’t many good deals, but its just the adventure.

Not for me, but whatever puts sprinkles on your cupcake.

Have a good one
